Pros

I started this job at 21 years old, and it was the perfect job to fulfill my desires at the time. It was very exciting to not know where I would be going next and it was fun to explore and travel. Pay started of well for me (as a young person living with family) and you are guaranteed at least 70-75 hours a month whether you work that many hours or not. Opportunities to pick up shifts, swap, and work overtime were good as well. As you build seniority, you have the ability to build a very good and flexible schedule that allows you to have a work/life balance. The best benefits of course are the free standby travel and buddy passes.

Cons

Most things, if not all, are based on seniority which is hard to accrue unless the company is hiring and sending new flight attendants to your current base. Therefore, I was on call a lot, getting called at 3 in the morning, working very inconsistent schedules. Some weeks I wouldn't get called, some weeks I would get called everyday. Additionally, the aviation industry as a whole is very unreliable. Therefore, you may think you are going to be working a 6 hour day but with delays and cancellations, it could very well turn into a 12+ hour day.

Pros

Nice staff to commiserate with

Cons

• They pretend they do not layoff people, but they have a practice of either asking people to resign, retire, or engage with HR to stress push you out of the organization. • All of the good leadership in the company is long gone. All that is left is the "B" team at this point. • Management is homegrown and resents real feedback. • Prepare to get caught up doing tasks for inexperienced and untrained managers who forgot they requested it a week later. • Their stock is a wacky rollercoaster. • Carl Icahn, famous for joining the TWA board and ruining the airline forever, now has voting seats on the JetBlue board. Based on the volatility of their stock and a string of mismanaged deals and mergers, and a slew of unqualified VPs and Directors, I expect the current state of the company is as good as it gets and likely to continue a downward trend. • JetBlue is reported to be in the bottom 5% of benefits compared to their industry competition. • When I was hired, HR told me about compensation and benefits that never materialized. (This is the first poor review of a company I have ever given, and I hope to never work at a place like this again. I highly recommend looking elsewhere or at JetBlue competitors for a stable and professional work environment.)
