Pros

For someone right out of undergrad, you will make about 90k including all the bonuses which is good! The company has a huge name and overall you do get exposure to a lot of different tools and cross functional teams. you do manage multimillion dollar e-commerce business which is impressive responsibility. The perks are great in terms of all the free food (eggs, biscuits, chips, cookies, sparkling water, coffees, milk, etc.) and free gym, commuter benefits, etc. After about a year, everyone's salary increases 15k and additional 12-15k bonus. So again, money is good.

Cons

horrible work life balance. if you get out at 6 it is considered early. People aren't encouraged to take lunch breaks and also aren't encouraged to leave at a reasonable hour. Most people eat at their desks and leave at 7pm on a good day. This job is also very high pressure and everyone shares the same sad morale. Also, as stated in the reviews below the performance reviews are on a bell curve which makes everyone extremely competitive with eachother and honestly the feedback you get isn't even truly based on your category performance. Instead, it is based on if your manager likes you or not on a personal level. for the team I was on, it was SO obvious who the favorites were. Most people only stay if they choose money over their happiness. I am so thankful I left.

Pros

- The company hires very smart people directly out of school, and it hires managers out of top MBA programs - Access to online learning tools that allows one to learn skills such as SQL, marketing, etc. - Snacks in the office and a stipend for lunch twice a week. Additionally there is a free gym membership to crunch

Cons

- The position has limited opportunity for growth. Unless you find a way to move to another team (marketing, retail analytics, etc.), you will get stuck in this role. - The day-to-day work is more about data maintenance than actual thinking and problem solving. After about 3-6 months, most categories get built out. This results in the job becoming an endless process of begging vendors for funding and updating new/existing SKU PDPs. - As mentioned by others, the review process is all about optics. Even if your category is performing well, it mainly depends on your relationship with your manager. Additionally, the company reviews its associates on a bell curve. This promotes perverse incentives - coworkers become overly competitive and the biggest “teacher’s pets” thrive.
