Pros

- Supportive in terms of mental health, flexible working and health and safety. If you make a decision on the basis of safety, they will have your back. - Open to employee feedback. - Involved in a few big projects (and a ton of projects no-one cares about) - Current CEO has done a good job at turning the company around since he joined. - The company is now huge and is resilient to periods of low work. Getting better at giving people opportunities.

Cons

- Some bad eggs in the mix - Cheap/tight on money. There's no other way to put it. - Some graduates (highways) get promoted in 2 years doing little work while others, who can clearly demonstrate their technical development, are promoted in 3 years. Why? - No money put aside for technical training. I haven't been on a training course for 3 years. - Pushes younger engineers to sacrifice their own time for STEM activities. I have no problem with this normally but it is dishonest when you are doing so for free advertising. I will not lie to young students about the 'rewards' and 'wealth of opportunities'. - The company intranet is garbage. - People are afraid to put their opinions out in the open, leading to some awkward situations when management come over and ask a crowd of people for opinions. - Claims to be on top of 'technical excellence' but still feels like an old fashioned company. Everywhere you look you can see design tools which will take 5 times as long to design something. - Wants employees to get engaged in many initiatives but offers no incentives to do so. It gets tiresome to keep hearing 'we need you to do this' or 'we are relying on you to get involved'. We're busy on projects.

Refuse a job as a true safety voncernand the management will just sub in another without documenting or addressing concerns. People are afraid to report any incidents for they will be placed on a lay off list and terminated

Pros

Opportunity to learn different trades. Great way to learn from super smart technicians and operation supervisors. Great way to network with NASA, engineers and contractors.

Cons

Job is super stagnant. No growth unless you are hired as a manager or promoted to manager. Little to no team culture. No sense of urgency. Not impressed by salary with amount of work given. Management does not hire the right people for PM roles. Management does not fire horrible PMs. Management is in denial when company is not doing well.
