Pros

None, just the Pay, the flex time and earned time after 10 years of service

Cons

Managers, More Managers and all Discipline Managers, they don't know anything about respect, there are no rules they can curse, they can be loud and they just don't care, a law suit waiting to happen, the good-ole boy network is alive and thriving, if you can't do the job you are promoted, there are some people that do their check balancing and personal work on company/client time.

Pros

The work is exciting, especially in Future Systems or Aerospace Industries. Exposure to newest technologies and working with other corporations to see how they lead and develop new ideas and technolog to meet seemingly impossible pipedreams. Want to work on Force field generators or cloaking devices - coming right up.

Cons

What management? This is basically a glorified headhunter to the government - no management contact or relationship exists. No training opportunities ever discussed or reviewed or presented. No continuing education opportunities covered. Most "on your own - fend for yourself" place I have ever encountered. I don't mind fending, but don't expect me to feel part of your "team"

Pros

Hours are great and flexible. Compensation is great for interns and co-ops. Project engineering and ultimately project management roles are easier to acquire than at larger firms.

Cons

Company culture is at times too lax. Post graduate degrees for most engineering positions aside from top technical positions are not necessary. Therefore, your pay even with a Masters or P.E. does not reflect the going rate for the industry.
