Pros

Flexible work schedules and opportunities for advancement. Large Intl company that is growing organically and through acquisitions. Salary and Benefits are good compared to industry.

Cons

Stressful and busy place to work. Runs very lean in overhead and pressure to maintain very high billabillity levels. Policies are designed for "one size fits all approach" but differant departments need flexibility.

Pros

Some decent projects to work on. Good reputation with clients helps them get and keep work. They will take safety concerns seriously. Did allow me to take a sabatical to do voluntary work.

Cons

Support for personal development and training was the minimum needed to keep my professional membership. Obsessed with paperwork and form filling over the quality of work done. Top heavy 'do what you're told' culture. Little opportunity to innovate.

Pros

Some very talented engineers work for Jacobs.

Cons

Senior management are atrocious. They lie and prevaricate about what they obviously consider minor details such as job security, pay increases etc for staff. All that actually matters to them is the share index and their own inflated salaries and bonuses. "People are our greatest asset" they claim. Don't make me laugh. The only assets that matters to Jacobs are dollars in the bank. And this attitude means they are doomed and will fail. Go work at your corner store; the pay may be lower but you'll be better appreciated and valued.
