Pros

Better than average pay Challenging and diverse projects

Cons

Management does not care about the employee. They see their employees as a commodity to be managed to help grow financially for the company. Managers avoid speaking directly with employees about concerns, and usually wait until the absolute last minute to inform everyone about major changes happening within the company. Due to this disconnect between management and other staff, the feel in the office is very depressing. It has only gotten worse since the merger between Jacobs and Legacy CH2M employees. You can really feel the large corporate atmosphere now. There are still some amazing Legacy CH2M folks roaming the halls, but they are becoming fewer and fewer.

Pros

I have a job to go to

Cons

Where do I start? 1. They continue to layoff thousands of US employees to save a buck. Let's move them to Krakow. No, to Mumbia! It's cheaper! Yet, they have no problem spending $10m on an HR system that has no real value and already have a system that can do what the new system does. 2. The CEO acts like a rock star. Note to CEO: Read Good to Great. It will not last and it is not sustainable 3. The CEO is ADD. The guy has 15 ideas a day and wants them implemented 4. They are on a 'diversity' kick. Problem is, it's all for show. They do not live it, practice it or project it.

Pros

You get a paycheck, maybe. I can't think of any other positives.

Cons

Management at this location aren't just inept, they conceal the truth from their employees and have an internal policy for the highest level of management is that no issue or dispute is to be put in writing (for plausible deniability). The "insurance" is grossly overpriced & severely limited. You even have to jump hurdles to apply for any discount. Raises for non-management are extremely rare. Typical increase is < 50¢/hr for full professionals. Management gets massive bonuses but cry there isn't any money to help subordinates. Training outside of satisfying contractual agreements don't exist. They DON'T want you trained with updated skills. They rely on your skills being dated so you're literally forced to stay to get a paycheck. Also, management will drop you in the moment your funding becomes questionable yet will negatively react if you don't give them two weeks courtesy notice of leaving. Bottom line, you won't get the real truth, only excuses.
