Pros

Solid benefits; support for new training and learning on the job; nice atmosphere with early finishes on long weekends, clubs, social events, etc...; flexible working hours and ability to work from home when necessary; multiple areas of business mean many options

Cons

The company overall is pretty solid and creates a good working atmosphere but what it all depends on is what team you land on. Once you are on a team it can feel like you are in one silo among many and your contact with others is limited. If you love your supervisor, tasks, and options for advancement, GREAT! If you like the company but feel like your work is dull, your supervisor is tough to work with, and everything you're interested in doing is on another team or under another business line... well, you're on the outside looking in.

Pros

Many smart people. Global scope and resources. Strong specializations in areas such as public affairs research, media research, affluent/luxury research, multi-cultural research, etc. Groups specifically devoted to hot topics such as mobile, neuroscience, behavioral economics, etc.

Cons

Extremely financially-oriented -- a lot of pressure to hit monthly sales targets, cut costs, etc. The low-cost approach also leads to staff turnover and many less-than-impressive employees. Lack of staff leads to very heavy workloads for some.

Pros

Don't be lured in. This is a horrendously mismanaged organization, and is pretty much the laughing stock of the industry now.

Cons

Where to start? Years of mismanagement, total disregard for employees, and inconsistent messaging leaves the company in a precarious position. Old boy networks reign supreme, and too talent is either being let go or jumping ship, Watch this space, it's not going to be pretty. Joining would be a career limiting decision.

Well in spite of your comment about "years of mismanagement", at least you seem to appreciate our CEO, who has managed the company for more than 40 years! More seriously, the number of Ipsos alumni who are in leadership positions in our industry, and for some of them in other industries, is a testimony that your point about joining our company is a "career limiting move" is obviously not based on facts. At Ipsos you will learn not only about People Insights, but also from helping a variety of brands and businesses, from the most prestigious ones to new ventures, and/or from helping governments across the globe to improve societies.
