Pros

I really like the people at Intuit. On the whole, they're very bright and focused on doing a good job for customers. The culture is supportive and management treats people with respect. I also like the work-life balance at Intuit. People tend to work from ~8:30 to 5:30 and most jobs don't involve much travel. It's also nice to work for a company with millions of customers. When I tell someone where I work they generally have used one of our products and have good things to say about it. It's definitely worth checking out Intuit as a place to work.

Cons

One of the biggest challenges Intuit faces is moving from a boxed software company into selling services on the web. Management understands this and has set a clear vision but the company is likely to face a lot of bumps as it transitions. Intuit has a fairly slow moving culture where you have to create a lot of powerpoint decks and convince a lot of managers before you can do anything very dramatic. They also tend to be slow to promote people which can be frustrating. On the financial side, the stock has been struggling for a long time which seems to indicate that the market is skeptical of its ability to grow.

Pros

The total compensation package is outstanding...salary, bonus plan, 401K matching, health, vacation, etc. Management is very competant, and highly focused on creating a crystal clear strategy and ensuring clear understanding down throughtout the entire organization. The products/services have huge followings and customer bases, yet there is a continued focus on innovation the solves new problems and allows Intuit to enter into new markets. This is an exicting company that should be highly recommended.

Cons

One of the only downsides is that there seems to be a high amount of contstant change in the VP or SVP leadership. Frequently, these level leaders are given very short times to perform, and if they are not 100% successful, are usually shown the door or put into a new postion. This typically leads to priorities changing, and churn in the working levels. Also, re-organizations are very frequent. Perhaps with a new CEO, this will all slow down.

Pros

Great people to work with. The culture is one where people are treated with respect, we're extremely customer focused, and are genuinely interested in creating products and services that delight. The company is not very political and work-life balance is valued. We stay focused on our priorities and people don't care that much about "face time" which is extremely refreshing.

Cons

We're in a transition period right now where we're figuring out how to move from a largely desktop software business to being a business that delivers ongoing value and services to small businesses and consumers. Change is difficult, but I think we're making the right changes and choices, albeit difficult.
