Pros

-Your coworkers on your TEAM are great. -Benefits very impressive: stock grants, ESPP, bonus sharing, v.good 401k match, $600 health (ie gym) reimbursement, etc. -Seeing Brad Smith talk in person-- never pass up the opportunity

Cons

-Annual summer layoffs--avoid working on old code, that will get sent to India and you will be looking for a new job -New 3 year plan every year(and a new team reorg to go with it) -Highly political, if your PM or team manager has the juice you're golden, if they are unpopular or not well liked forget it

Lots of benefits

Pros

great place to work to learn new skills and be rewarded for performance. Not only is the health insurance good but there lots of other benefits like tuition reimbursement, fitness incentives, etc.

Cons

It is a large company and at the end of the day it does not matter how well you are performing or what your relationship is like with the team that you interact with on a daily basis. If your position does not meet the new vision, it will be eliminated.

Love Intuit But Avoid QuickBase

Pros

Intuit has very strong core values around leadership, customer care and empathy and community service (to name just a few). The company offers great compensation and benefits and promotes 10% time in which you can take on pet projects that help the business but also helps the individual grow their careers. The QuickBase team hires great talent (for the most part) and you'll work with talented peers in the technical functions.

Cons

The QuickBase product is managed largely by Marketing, who receive many of the resources and make many of the decisions around the company. This would normally be fine but Marketing management in Cambridge is inept and have stubbed their toes in too many projects and strategies to be trusted. The Marketing arm also handles the operational teams at QuickBase and this leads to colossal issues with project execution, leading to tying up valuable resources unnecessarily.
