Pros

Potential for progression (training and experience) if you have the ability to stick out the flaws. You can then take your skills to a company that values you more. (Particularly true for getting into the NDT industry)

Cons

- Toxic work culture in many departments, including threatening behaviour, bullying, work-shyness, nepotism, favouritism. Most of which aren't tackled by management. - Screening of new-hires is non-existent in some cases, they'll hire anyone. Some staff absolutely shouldn't be working there. - Pay is low compared to competitors. - Flexibility is there for the right people. - CEO talks the talk but doesn't back any of it up with action. It's purely to look good on shareholder comms.
