Pros

The position is as advertised, you must be professional and safe, always! If you are just starting out in the oil business, this is not an oil field job. You are working as a third party representative and an extension of the client you are working for whether it is an oil company, insurance company or trading company. You will meet a number of highly influential people in the biz including customs agents, refinery personel and loss control. If you stay professional and work hard, you can expect to advance in the company or out of the company to one of the oil companies or better.

Cons

As a petroleum inspector you can expect to work regularly at all hours during your scheduled days on. At least there is a set schedule now that these companies must pay real overtime. Watch your step, wear your PPE and come home safe.

Pros

- Global company with multiple office locations. - New career opportunities crop up quickly, just need to network with other locations. - Promote continued education. - Good entry level job.

Cons

- Salary not competitive. - Poor cross division communication/integrity. - No clear accountability structure. - Insufficient employee training. - Work/life balance not priority even though management states otherwise. Management expects more and more from employees without motivating incentives. - Unclear expectations. - Heavy workload assigned to all, work expectations exceed resources, no one to support or help. - Senior management is solely money oriented with no regard for employees. - No trust amongst staff as a result of heavy workload and unhappy colleagues.
