Pros

PTO is generous from the start.

Cons

Where to begin? The C-Suite are so disengaged from the workers. Some locations have decent offices, perks, etc. but Arlington Heights, IL is a slum. This location has a different set of rules than other locations and even office management are treated like grammar school kids. Cant eat or drink at your desk (due to rodents), equipment and office furniture are ancient and falling apart. Except of course for the executive suite which has beautiful new furniture, coffee maker, etc. The exec admin has a larger office than most CEO's. Final slap in the face.....Last week when Chicago had one of the worst winter storms in history (over a ft of snow and -55 wind chill), yet all lab and office employees were expected to come into work. Some dept. managers didn't succumb to this ridiculous requirement and allowed employees to work remote, while others went along with the office management. We were told in a group e-mail to make sure to bring blankets and have a full tank of gas...WOW! Asking employees to risk their lives in extremely hazardous conditions to come into work just to make sure the money keeps coming in. A safety company that doesn't care at all about their own employees safety. Pathetic!

Pros

I love the people I work with. I've had opportunity to try a variety of things, but that's mostly due to my "ask forgiveness not permission" attitude. Opportunity is there but you have to make it. 4 weeks vacation is a bonus, benefits are good.

Cons

Management is all about the 30-day profit window. No long term strategy and the company message changes every 30 days depending on how the numbers looked. VERY poor compensation and little growth, ~2% annual raises if that. Senior leadership talks a LOT about putting the customer first, until the rubber meets the road, then it's all about "only work for who's paying us fastest" regardless of the schedule or prior commitments. Pushing shoddy work out the door for the same of making budgets. HIGH employee turnover due to the attitude that numbers are first, people are second. Good talent catches on quickly, and since the pay isn't great, it doesn't take long for them to find greener pastures and move on.

Pros

Semi-flexible & some good people. That's about it.

Cons

Coworkers are good but the higher ups are terrible. All about money, don't care about the employees. Lip service is given but nothing more. Pay is low. It is flexible but not worth the stress and bad environment. Execs are an exclusive boys club that only cares about money. As an employee it honestly feels like you're a number or a cog and nothing more. I'd look elsewhere.
