Extremely disorganised, hazardous workplace
Pros
Pay is good enough, but not enough for the work that's expected of you
Cons
There are a lot of things wrong with this place, I'll start with management. Materials provided for teaching are not thoroughly checked and sufficient enough. Most of the time, teachers are left to struggle with finding what is supposed to be available for them. Crucial things such as audio files meant to be used in class, books and other materials. Paper usage is highly discouraged, but sometimes detrimental to the efficiency of the class. Rationing paper between 50 teachers, and not to mention only one printer available. Class times are 2 hours, sometimes up to 3 hours long. Which doesn't allow for sufficient enough time to rest during the day. Also also, the teachers room is extremely small and does not have enough of everything for every teacher that is currently employed. Chairs/desks, lockers, just space to simply rest and take a break. A lot is expected of teachers and are sometimes shamed/scolded for minor issues that could have been discussed beforehand. The work environment is very toxic. And the final nail in the coffin? Lack of work-life balance. Think long and hard before you confine yourself to the world of teaching, it's not for everyone, and if you work here, it will definitely make your life somewhat of a living hell. Provide more facilities for your teachers. Treat your teachers with respect. It is such an uptight, strict school with no room for fun. It is a miserable place, even for the students. Try to be considerate of work-life balance.
