Pros

Unfortunately, I don't have many pros to list. You do get the opportunity to work with some fun, young people. But unfortunately, they are told the position will be one thing when it turns out to be something completely different. So, at least you have good people to be miserable with while you are still there.

Cons

The interview process was great with lavish dining, drinks and socializing. They seemed very welcoming and talked highly about their supportive team. After meeting everyone on the team I was ecstatic to begin a new career path in the world of recruiting. I have worked many years in Sales and so working hard for your money goes without saying. I was in it for the long haul. Once on board I quickly realized there was no training and management was never available when needed. Being new to the industry and having no technical background it is important to have support from your boss. I am resourceful and a quick learner. However, there is certain inside knowledge that someone with experience has and that was never available when it said it would be. What was even more disappointing was when you give feedback or advice it is taken extremely negatively. Being that it is a "start-up" you would think that all input would be considered and not brushed away.

Pros

A lot of potential for growth. Fun, energetic work environment. Young, work hard - party hard minded employees. Food and booze on the company's dime a few times each month. Great opportunity to get into sales at a young and make a lot of money. If you are only interested in money this is for you.

Cons

I was recruited right before I graduated from college and thought I had really lucked out. Although the company has a lot of room for growth you reeeaaally have to sip the koolaid to get anywhere. The hours are long but that isn't necessarily a con, your looking at 50 hours per week bare minimum. Extraordinarily high turnover rate. They churn through new college grads quicker than Tiger Woods goes through mistresses. If I had to guess, for every recruiter that is promoted to account manger there are 2 people that either quit or are let go. The office is basically a giant clique, if you don't fit in to their liking you are a duck sitting in water. Not a whole lot of diversity in the company either, I dare anyone to find a woman (particularly recruiters and account managers) who is not moderately attractive. There also seemed to be a lot of talking behind the backs of others. Also, little to no work - life balance although for those that fit in well this isn't really a concern because people from the office hang out basically all weekend. I'm not certain if this is accurate but I heard a story of an account manager who was so gung-ho and sipped the koolaid so hard that they literally lost their mind temporarily and was told to work less (yes, that can happen if you work 70-80 hours a week regularly). Really the last thing that I found to be a con is the fact that they literally prey on young, inexperienced, naive college grads who have no real world experience beyond internships. Overall Insight was a good experience in that it showed me what I didn't want to do. Definitely not for everybody. I would rather care about the product I sell rather than offer false hope and use people constantly.

Pros

meeting lots of new, young people, just graduating from college

Cons

These past few entries must be from upper management wanting IGI to look better because if you have ever worked for Insight Global, you will know that it is not a pleasant experience. Everything listed previously is true. The pay is terrible, the hours are long and would be comparable to a sweat shop, contractors are treated badly, we only care about more money and will do anything that it takes to get it, and you HAVE to hang out with the people you work with 24/7 or it is looked down upon. I've never heard of any business run like this in my life. You are micro-managed to a degree that is really unhealthy. Every stat you get, it's recorded and noticed by everyone. You can't even go to the bathroom too long or someone will ask where you went. You are scared that any moment, you will be called in the back to get yelled out for something that really doesn't matter.. My advice for future employees internally or externally- stay far, far, far, away.
