Pros

- Good campus' with almost all facilities anyone can ask for - Brand value, that still is good - Started to focus on products, platforms and solutions for next phase of growth that is good (will be interesting to see how it works out / executed though).

Cons

- Quite a few changes in top mgmt recently, probably becoz of which new wins have slowed down a lot - Too much focus on maintaining margins by CFO/top mgmt, due to which new wins are instead going to TCS, cognizant - Inflexible policies like 9.25 work hours, certifications, no powers given to managers even for claims reimbursement (any exception needs to be approved by CFO office), no realistic work from home option (when other companies are pursuing this actively) - Variable pay components (there are 3 variable pay components, BTW!) of total salary is too high compared to other comapnies like TCS, cog etc, even for non-mgmt / junior-mgmt. - Variable pay is given in the range of 50% for many quarters by now, which makes take home salary significantly lesser than shown on paper. This is even though profits are increasing. Which is not the case with competitors. - Too much cash reservers which is not being put to good use - Unfriendly top mgmt (as seen in recent town halls meetings after no hike declaration) - No transparency on how variable pay %s are calculated.... so many times was this qn asked to mgmt and its a generic answer everytime that "its depends on how much we exceed the targets"

Pros

The only reason is so-called job security. Even that is no longer true with their iRace policy. Infrastructure is good. Apart from that, its the best deal for relatively older laterals. People from top engineering colleges get a higher role (at entry level without any training) than people from other engineering colleges spending 3-4 years with the company.

Cons

Stupid HR policies. They believe in employee policing, enforcing impractical rules etc. You never get recognized even with best appraisals. Regionalism is rampant everywhere from onsite to promotion. They prefer to hire laterals from outside rather than promote their own people internally even if outsiders are not competent enough. A lot depends on your equation with manager rather than the actual work performed. Salary is very low compared to similar jobs elsewhere. A software engineer with 4 years Infosys experience after becoming a senior system engineer post iRace can see an IIT fresher get a higher role. Their PR efforts don't justify the ground realities.

Pros

1) Great infrastructure: They have amazing campus. Lots of greenery and space. They maintain their campus in a top condition. You'll love the campus and the way it is maintained. 2) Good facilities: bus/cab service, parking lot, convention center , ATMs, a Laundromat and many more, big food courts. 3) Systematic and Transparent system. 4) Less workload : Good work life balance.

Cons

1) Too many people: There are just too many people in Infosys. No matter how many facilities Infosys provides to its employees, the facilities don't seem enough. Long lines at food courts, although there are few big food courts, long lines at ATMs although there are around 10 ATMs, long lines at Laundromat, although there are some 40 machines in bangalore center, long waiting for parking lot even though they have multi level parking lot. The list is endless. 2) Too many policies: There are so many policies. Too much control on employees. This again drills down to the huge workforce that infy has. If they don't keep control on employees, then employees start abusing the system. 3) Not so handsome salaries (except the top brass) . 4) Appraisals/Promotions: The process is fair but it's too complicated. 5) More talk, less innovation: I feel they talk too much about innovation, and they just talk. 6) Client centric.
