      Informatica has the been a great organisation to work for. Its continued growth has allowed me to progress my carreer consistantly providing new challenges and opportunities for growth. The values of the organization are very strong and this provides a safe [lace to learn and take opportunities. The strategy and market sector informatica plays in today is one of the fastest and hotest environements to be a part of.

      Cons

      Thier are occasion that being smaller and indepentant makes it a tough battle in the market place.

      Pros

      1. Work - life balance 2. Competitive pay - hikes are directly proportional to goals accompalished during financial year . Even if starting pay is not the best , but eventually you can beat any of the competitiors . 3. Freedom to think/innovate/learn . Time is given to properly design , think and implement the solution . 4. Great opportunity to develop personally - learning is not limited technical skills .. you can learn a lot when you have a group of smart people around . 5. Management accept shortcomings and are always ready to change for better .

      Cons

      A general cons of any big company is when the products become stable , a lot of time is spent in code maintenance which may slow down learning . This is again team specific and not permanent , eventually management takes care to distribute core rnd tasks so that every one gets good opportunity .

      Innovation no where to be found...great at keeping the lights on though!

      Diverse and global team Best in class products

      Cons

      Politics - too many business units and not enough centralized product strategy and focus Not enough cross product/group sharing and collaboraiton No culture or proof points of true innovation...really just adding on options and auto generation of mappings to cash cow - PowerCenter. Anything remotely innovative has been acquired technologies (e.g. B2B, Cloud apps, etc.)
