Pros

A lot a people really like it there, and have some great, dedicated people too. The CEO makes himself visible around the company, therefore being accessible and approachable. Pay scale is on target, great benefits and matching 401(k).

Cons

A majority of the people have been there for a REALLY long time which gives the place (and culture) an old school vibe - which is a direct correlation to why there are practically no women in management or key positions. The old guard don't view women as their equal - at all! They try to keep changing things up but nothing really sticks and they fall back on the "tried and true" way of doing things. HR is a scary joke and are more of a liability to the company than anything else, however, they have a decent recruiting team.

Thank you for the positive feedback on the company, our CEO and the benefits. I am sorry you feel that women are under-represented in management. I am not sure what the time period was when you worked at Informatica but as of the current day, we have 2 women on our Board of Directors, 2 female executive vice presidents reporting to the CEO and a number of female senior and vice presidents. While there is always room for improvement, these are some pretty good data points compared to many companies, in the valley or elsewhere. You may also be glad to know that in the past 18 months, we have launched a women’s resource group at HQ and other similar groups exist in different locations around the company. These are staffed, supported and run by women from various functions to improve networking and learning opportunities for the women, and men, within the business. If there are specific areas of feedback where you have seen leaders not respond to others because of gender, I would love to hear your insight. I am one of the old guard, in that I have been at Informatica for nearly 14 years, however, I am female and I have worked my way up the career ladder, joining in 2001 to run HR across Europe and currently holding one of the abovementioned EVP titles, reporting into our CEO. Please email me directly if you are open to sharing more specific feedback about this or about HR and how we can improve things, thanks. Jo Stoner jstoner@informatica.com
