Inchcape is a company with plenty of opportunity to progress

Cons

Inchcape contact you to be interviewed for roles/ vacancies that you have been asked to apply for and have actually been carrying out the role for years only to eventually be told (after you actually chase) that the role has already been offered to someone else. This is an absolute disgrace. I would like to say this was a one off situation; but unfortunately it isn't.

The team members, good rewards for top performers. Excellent junior management

Cons

2 basic pay levels £21k for those who started before a certain date and £16k for those joining after that date. Absolutely no work life balance, every Saturday ( with a day off during the week given back ) and a Sunday rota for which you aren't paid. Constant calls when your not at work "I know your on a day off but ....." No support from senior management at the weekend because they don't work at weekends. Huge tax liabilities on the company car scheme. if your company car (demo) is loaned to a customer and you are allocated a car in a higher band for the duration you have to pay the extra tax. Company car usage is micro managed and you are constantly penalised unless you are a senior manager; then the car and fuel is free. Massive focus on prospecting ( or bullying ) your existing customers to attend made up sales weekends where if you don't get the right amount of appointments your are threatened with being put on performance review. IT systems were a joke and the sales process is very rigid, in my time there were four different CRM systems.
