Pros

Work-life balance is great! Most of the people are fun to work with and. you get a lot of free beauty products.

Cons

They like to hire from above giving very little room for growth. Upper management is a disaster and most don't even know how to manage a team. Many times you are given things to work on that go nowhere and are a waste of your time. Salary is pretty bad and you likely won't get decent raises that you deserve unless you ask for it.

Pros

- Great overall culture. You'll be working with a lot of very smart and hardworking people. It's a great place to get exposure to both the tech industry and the beauty industry. The company has grown tremendously in the past few years and has still a lot of growth ahead. Good benefits and a very strong HR team that takes care of making improvements every year (recently added 401K contributions!)

Cons

Less upward mobility in certain teams. Certain changes are very slow to happen (or cannot happen until very long periods of validation through data and A/B testing) which can make it a bit slower to react than its competitors. However, this risk-averse attitude is probably why IPSY has great financials and is very profitable. Certain teams are much more overworked than others. The company has grown so much over the past few years - there are pockets of very different cultures and atmospheres between the New York, San Mateo and LA offices.
