Great Start, slow decline.

Pros

The best reason use to be the benefits and "extra's". The current reason is a steady job that brings in enough to barely pay the bills.

Cons

Lack of internal promotions. Cut costs down to make the job more difficult to do.

Pros

Can gain experience in your craft / skill(s). Lower management understands how their employees feel and do what they can to keep them happy.

Cons

Upper management will attempt to push out changes that will only affect the people at the lowest rungs, without first consulting them for their opinion on the matter.

It's full of silos...

Pros

Benefits, work life balance, self-authored performance reviews, some cool game themes, really talented engineers and artists.

Cons

IGT has more silos than NORAD. Most, if not all, management (mid-level and above) is in over their head. True decision makers are few and far between... decision by committee is the norm because of the silos. There is no lack of ideas from those in the trenches, ideas that could be the next TITO for IGT. However, and idea without management support to execute said idea is just converting Oxygen to CO2. Overall, the corporate culture is on par with a high school senior prom. The most talented and productive staff have moved on to work for the competition. The irony is that IGT is the instigator of this knowledge transfer by way of "cost reducing" layoffs. Most successful technology companies these days acqui-hire new talent, IGT has cornered the market on cost-to-fire through severance payouts.
