Pros

Company is very stable and has not had layoffs in my 6 years there. Very flexible in schedule and also being able to work remotely when needed. Coworkers are smart, work hard and pleasant. Very little politics going on. Able to get my job done, and can usually get the equipment I need purchased without much fuss. Good amount of freedom to pursue self-initiated technical projects.

Cons

Rare and small raises, very rare promotions, not much opportunity for advancement. HR rules the pay and promotion system with an iron fist, and multiple managers have told me that they have basically zero say in compensation or promotions.

> Almost no micromanagement > Flexible hours if you find yourself in between projects > They will pay certification exam fees if you can pass the exam

Cons

> Poor compensation system. No matter how hard you work, you will get 2-2.5% as max raise on every 2 years basis > Expect to work on average 80-90 hours per week during the go-lives > No budget for external training, however there are many opportunities to get internal training on their own systems/products > No motivation programs (incentives, bonuses, share profits etc) for employees

Pros

IGT has an on-site gym, and Cafeteria that is open for breakfast and lunch. When you start, you receive 3 weeks of vacation, 1 week of sick, and 2 float days.

Cons

The accounting department does not take time to train new employees. The excuse is always that there is too much work to stop and train. Additionally, managers in the accounting department are secretive. There is really no transparency. In order to get a promotion or special recognition, you need to be friends with management. There is no HR on site, and managers ignore HR type issues.
