Pros

The best thing about IGT is the ability for senior management to be completely out of touch. People who have never been in a casino are remote managing huge parts of the company and don't know the people, the culture, nor the customers. Just throwing proverbial darts in the dark and stumbling around in the dark like drunken sailors in a fun house.

Cons

The fact that none of the staff gets to ride on the CEO's 70 million dollar corporate jet...that takes her from her home in the bay area, to ski in Colorado, to France all under the guise of "tech conferences". I would like to see that jet someday...

Pros

If you're in the right team, management can be outstanding, though this can vary from team to team. The cash-sharing bonus system is outstanding. Great benefits via insurance and 401K company matching program.

Cons

Recent economic conditions have caused the company to reduce employee headcount. There does not seem to be a solid strategic plan for getting the company back on a profitable footing. I would not recommend for anyone to take a job OR a promotion at IGT until the company shows good profits again. In the most recent round of layoffs, the first ones out were the last ones in (or who had been recently promoted up). In light of these events, I feel that I need to move to another company in order to expand my skill set or look for growth opportunities.

Pros

Comradery, most coworkers are talented and good people to work with. There are patches of management and executives who are also talented and good people. You can easily move around to different departments.

Cons

Dramatically shrinking benefits, constant layoffs, outsourced employees producing extremely low quality work, and all departments are so strained for resources that you will likely be doing their jobs during business hours and only be allowed to do your work after hours.
