Lack of qualified Directors and Senior Management

Pros

Benefits really are the only positive thing left at ICON. Work from home options (depending on which department you are working in).

Cons

Many of ICON Sr Management does not respect the people who have been at ICON for more then 8+ years and have built it to where it is today. Finances are more important then the quality of the support and staff. Lack of culture in a global organization leads to BULLIES and HARASSMENT to maintain control and power. Lack of Qualified Senior Management who are given positions they don’t deserve while other staff members have been with the organization and are more qualified get no promotions. Voice, what is that?? Unless you are a member of the elite your voice is just white noise.

Pros

When I first started working at ICON, I loved the systems, my manager, and my team. Now, not so much. You get executive status for national car rental, which has been pretty nice. Some of the systems they use aren't too terrible, like their CTMS system for example. The mentor I have is amazing and always makes herself available to me.

Cons

Their HR department and IT department are rather hard to get in contact with. They also change systems fairly regularly, which can be bothersome. I've had to submit the same expense reports 3 times now because of their system updates and errors. Their benefits package is okay but nothing too special. I also don't feel supported from either my study team nor my manager. If anything, I feel more pressured to work harder but for no reward. Low chance of promotion or growth, even if they tell you otherwise. Low merit based raises as well. If you are brought in as a Legacy PRA employee, you'll be expected to sign a non-compete and will not be treated very well. Additionally, they do not provide a company phone and have become extremely strict with travel expenses (i.e. if there is a 1 hour flight available with no layovers, the preferred flight would be the one with 9 or more stops/layovers because it is the cheapest) there's also a lot of travel and visits are stacked on top of one another. Burn out is inevitable. My initial compensation for my position was also quite nice. No sign on bonus though.

Layoffs in US sending jobs to India

Pros

Benefits are still good, however each year they cost us more for less coverage.

Cons

Laying off seasoned employees so that they can send the job to India where they can get two for the price of one American.
