Pros

IBM Software provides the individual with an environment that encourages motivated people. From new acqusitions, new technologies, strategies, etc. IBM Software is always challenging the status quo. Most customers do not know the real IBM and our ability to deliver and be competitive with even the most 2.0 of companies. If you want to work with many different customers across several industries that really need your help this is the place to be.

Cons

Working as a technical sales rep I have given up on understanding compensation and who the hell comes up with the quota numbers. Obviously nobody that has to reach them. There is no rhyme or reason to the double digit quota increases and single digit salary increases.

Pros

None. Unless you like working for a huge company.

Cons

IBM has no clue about developing software... it just assimilates smaller companies, and tries to shoehorn them into IBM's way of doing things, which results in low-quality products. It also treats its engineering staff like interchangable cogs, laying off highly paid, experienced engineers for inexpensive college hires, assuming they can do the same job
