      they were the only A&E firm hiring at the time.

      Cons

      poor communication from top down. Associates only look out for themselves, do not expect them to train young professional staff. most of them are senior techies, they do not have much love for young professionals. top brass seems to condone this kind of environment. the one i have to deal with is particularly frustrating, doesnt listen and condescending in his speech.

      seemed to have reached the ceiling in where my career could go within the first year - manager has a preference for hiring juniors and keeping you at that level even when you surpass all expectations

      Pros

      You are made to feel that you are part of one of the top architectural firms in the world.

      Cons

      In reality, it might be at the top but not the best. You need to know to play dirty politics to advance in the company. otherwise, you will be taken for granted and the manager could use phrases like" you don't deserve what you get" Got some very rude comments from the manager. This is only at the Vancouver location. Toronto was not that bad.
