Pros

-Student experience was great, good interactions with other co-op students -Average pay -Good flexibility with hours unless there's a super urgent project

Cons

The senior engineers are all old and close to retirement and none of them know how to use computers. Students grind the gears (excel, word, revit, autocad, etc) and the old people do nothing and take credit.

Pros

Good experience in IT department. Very good team to work with and great leaders in this department.

Cons

Upper management who handles support staff should take care of support staff better. Poor compensation, no benefits, health insurance is paid by employees. No RRSP matching. Zero benefits. Support staff aren't treated well in this company.

Pros

3 weeks vacation compared to 2 weeks, the coffee is good, uses both a modern and not so modern stack so you're stretched across a few different techs which is sort of cool. My boss is pretty relaxed. Pay is good. Benefits are good. Hours are strictly 9-5 but that means nobody bothers you past 5. You don't take your work home with you. They're very pro-sustainability and the company in general works on cool stuff (though there's a big chance that as a dev you won't).

Cons

You're stuck with your team and don't really interact with anyone else. Office is open concept so forget about privacy. Hours are strict - you come in when your team is in. No options for remote work. The projects themselves are uninteresting. I get the feeling that there are opportunities for growth but they're not at all clear. I couldn't even tell you what's beyond my role because I have no idea.
