Somewhere to start.

Pros

Good place to start when beginning career in hotel industry, good experience, free food

Cons

minimum wage, poor management, poor organization, you bear the brunt for all the deficiencies of the hotel (there are many), poor software (will screw you up plenty), micro managed (i hate the most)

There were many good things about this job: the manager was the best i've ever had the privilege to work under and learn from, the staff felt like family, and treated each other as such.

Cons

There is almost a stigma connected to the Howard Johnson label.....but this site won many awards. The pay was mediocre, and was my main reason for moving on.
