Great benefits, some interesting projects (if you're in the right group), fun to be on inside track of development.

Cons

Dogmatic, hypocritical, hypercritical, disorganized, backwards/illogical/ridiculous decisions result in engineers not being properly utilized. Those without engineering degrees still earn engineering title easily.

Cons
