Pros

Hours are good 7.45 to 3.45 but only the one 30 minute break The people you work with are sound

Cons

You are expected every year to increase your productivity or you'll not receive a Payrise, which is impossible after a while. If you are seen even just speaking to someone who passes your bench the management will soon be over to get you back to work. Management has changed so many times, a high turnover of staff. Massive amounts of backlog and forced to work mandatory Saturdays. The blame for the backlog is put on the workers. If the place happens to be quite due to a failed delivery and there's no backlog (very rare) the management will ask if you want to go home in return you are due them all the hours back as overtime, if you don't go home they are deliberately moody and try find menial jobs for you to do. There's zero chance of any promotion. It's a dead end job. they changed the rules for getting promoted to team leader and said you need a degree. If you tell them you'd like promoted they'll get you to do all the rubbish jobs like taking yearly GEOS meetings, cleaning and maintaining tanks anyway and after a couple of years people realise the bluff and give it up. Or they'll just move you into another area to repair a different tool as if that makes a difference. People have had hospital appointments some have had baby scans and to get the time off they've been asked to make the hours back or go unpaid. I've seen them string temps along for years without taking them on full-time. They also sacked every temp when they could of furloughed them. New starts will most likely be offered a zero hour contract. An ex employee came back, after 1 day he put his notice in because of how bad it had got.

Pros

Plenty of work and kept busy

Cons

Salary is non competitive. Turn around if employees is unreal. Constantly mismanaged. Helecopter team leads and micromanagement. New employees are paid the same if not more than loyal employees who have stayed with the company through hardship. Heating and upkeep of the building is taken off the bonus. No prospects of promotion within. Team lead roles aren't advertised within instead given to people with no knowledge of the work. Promotes a work life balance but threatens with disaplinery action if you don't work " mandatory weekends"
