Pros

- Pay - PTO - Paid holidays - Building blocks for navigating other marketing positions

Cons

- micromanaging - micro aggression - office politics even if you’re remote - lack of diversity or any inclusivity - lack of resources for employees (remote especially) First, in my experience this was probably the most toxic and cliquey work environment I’ve experienced. there’s no autonomy at this company. Maybe it was the team i was placed on but very little autonomy. You will be chastised and gaslit for others mistakes and barely recognized for any accomplishments. Even if you are a remote worker, the micro aggressions and office politics tries to find a way through your screen. Even though they do not outright state their discomfort, they very much do politics to make you feel isolated and not valued. They don’t have much support for remote workers and will outright isolate you for not “being in the office”. Consistent technical issues that can only be handled in office (which sucks if remote) and even then they will take no accountability for the lack of resources put in place for you to perform your duties to the best of your ability. Lack of resources not only technically but also for the duties being asked of you. They expect for you to know exactly what they are looking for but do not give any resources to aid into that. Many obstacles to jump through (such as limited sick days - they expect for you to work on your PTO days AND when you’re sick remotely or not. No accountability and lack of planning / consideration for others time and caseload. Non required but “recommended” happy hours which aren’t really recommendations because they will isolate you and make your workload more of a struggle when not in attendance) because of the combination of micromanaging, politics, and serious micro aggressions on top of your regular job duties.

Thank you for being a part of our team in Stamford as a Senior Brand Marketing Manager and for taking the time to write a comprehensive review. At Henkel, we value the contribution of each individual and thus promote holistic diversity, equality, and inclusion in our company. In recent years, for example, we have been able to increase the share of women in management positions to 38.1 %. We want to continue our efforts in this and other areas and are for example striving for gender parity across all management levels by 2025. Beyond these efforts, we also strive to provide the best possible work environment for all of our employees. The well-being and satisfaction of our employees are of utmost importance to us, which is why we take your criticism very seriously. For this reason, we would ask you to get in touch with your former contact in the HR department to tell us more about your experience. Best regards, Your Henkel Team

Pros

Good benefits like pension, holidays, free lunch.

Cons

Local markets scared of global teams, no autonomy or empowerment. Run by dinosaurs stuck in the dark ages. Not progressive or dynamic. The business knows zero about diversity and inclusion- business run by middle aged white men. Dreadful culture at the top, sadly filters down to the local markets. Way too much process for the smallest of things which wastes time and makes the business very slow to react. A lot of unhappy people in the business.

Thank you for reflecting on your time as a sales manager in England and thank you for your honest feedback. We are pleased that you highlight the benefits at Henkel here, because we believe that this is one aspect that makes us stand out as an employer. On the other hand, you also have a point of criticism. In particular, the topics of diversity & inclusion and the empowerment of our teams are very important to us, which is why we take your experiences very seriously. We have initiated a cultural change at Henkel, one of the goals of which is to give local teams more freedom to operate and make decisions. We have also put diversity and inclusion on our top agenda, particularly this year, and are continuing to drive the topic forward through targeted management training, among other things. We would love to learn more about your experiences and would be grateful if you shared it with us in a personal meeting with our HR department. This would give us the chance as an employer to improve and develop even further.
