Pros

By far the most recognisable recruitment agency in the business. All the benefits of working for a blue chip plc but with the added benefit of having the local network of offices to really know your clients/candidates. Having worked for the business for over 10 years and been through good and bad times i can say hand on heart Hays are absolutely untouchable when it comes to training, support, it systems (much more imortant than you think) and financial rewards. If you are willing to put the hard work in you are more likely to succeed and make a long term career for yourself here than other recruitment business i know of. Another thing worth pointing out is the opportunities on offer within hays, i have friends that have moved to Australia, Mexico, Dubai with the business as well as numerous others that have stayed in the same location and moved up the ranks, there are no restrictions within the business on promotions/progression, the criteria is clear, visable and most importantly achievable. As are the comission schemes and salarys on offer.

Cons

Like any role in recruitment the first 6 months are the most challenging as your building your reputation and learning to live with the inevitable pressure of a sales role. Once your over that, if your doing your job properly then there are no real cons i can think of.

Pros

Industry leading training. Lots of progression opportunities. A clear chain of command. Large candidate database. Cross specialism opportunities. Global Plc with overseas opportunities.

Cons

High commission standing requirements compared to competitors. One Touch is a little clunky to use and could do with a candidate diary function. Timesheet process could be better.
