Pros

Commission - Top-performing sales associates can earn a decent income given that those working at POS are not stealing commission on a daily basis.

Cons

The store was perpetually understaffed. Despite this, targets were still used to instil fear despite being unrealistic. Despite only having a handful of full-time and regular part-time sales associates, there were four full-time managers. Instead of coming on to the shop floor to help out during busy periods (i.e. Boxing Day), they would sit in the back office trading cryptocurrencies whilst everybody else were overworked. Colleagues, ESPECIALLY management, stealing commission on a daily basis. Certain managers would finish top in terms of overall sales for the year despite never being on the shop floor. A select few members of staff (almost exclusively female) were incentivised to steal sales from hard-working sales associates and distribute commission to management in order to get their chosen days off and preferential treatment. Management are already grossly overpaid for the little work that they do; stealing commission and threatening your job for daring to complain about it is grossly unprofessional. Little incentive to meet or outperform KPIs. Too often I found myself picking up the slack in terms of KPIs when other members of staff could not be bothered putting in the effort. In fact, those with the worst KPIs often made the most commission as they were the ones working at POS putting sales through as themselves.
