Full of empty promises

Pros

Good salary (prior 2012) Commission. Generous discount. Sometimes you can work in other stores helping on in store set ups and get taken out for meals in some nice restaurants. Higher management at directors level are really nice but you only see them few and far between unfortunately. Amazing customers.

Cons

LONG HOURS No progression Full of empty promises from area and in store management. Sometimes you will work 18 hours shifts and have to go back into work the following day. A lot of back stabbing, and arguing over people sales capabilities. Stealing other peoples sales. Old fashioned inter store transfer and inadequate communication between stores, which leads to a lot of customer complaints, which leads to a lot of messed up wedding parties and you getting screamed at potentially.

The toxic world of BOSS

Pros

There is nothing good about this place

Cons

I worked in head office in Melbourne and it was a joke. Nobody says hello, bullying is acceptable, low salary, unrealistic work expectations, micro management is encouraged, favouritism with staff, changing goal posts and no work life balance. The company is disorganised, no support given by HR, senior managers are believed over you regardless of what happens, hidden agendas, poor communication, high staff turn over, low engagement and you are made to feel like survival of the fittest, so staff are constantly against each other. Outdated ideas, low cost initiatives and systems yet premium prices on product, absolutely no innovation and still think they can ride the wave of suits from the 80’s and 90’s. Stay away from any job within this company as it is toxic from top to bottom. I will never buy anything from this company even if they paid me.

HUGO BOSS Response

Dear Former Employee, Thank you for taking the time to write this review – this is the most effective way for us to ensure our employees’ experiences at HUGO BOSS Australia are positive and continue to improve, so we always appreciate receiving feedback. Given that I currently work in the Melbourne Support Office, and am a member of the Human Resources team, I personally feel extremely disappointed that we have not succeeded in ensuring that you felt supported throughout your tenure at HUGO BOSS Australia, and I am truly sorry that this has been your experience. The Human Resources team are always available to discuss and work through issues, including those that have been raised in this review, and I am saddened that we were not approached at the time that this occurred. At HUGO BOSS Australia, we have zero tolerance for bullying, and as such, the allegations made regarding bullying and other people related grievances are shocking and deeply concerning. Whilst recollections of this series of events may vary, given the serious nature of the claims made, we have committed to investigating this further, and will be conducting refresher training on bullying, harassment and discrimination in the workplace, to ensure that this will not be the experience that any of our current, or future employees have at HUGO BOSS Australia. We are always striving for Innovation at HUGO BOSS as it is one of our key values. Whilst we have some great initiatives underway, I do acknowledge that some systems and processes may be in need of an update and we may not always hit the mark. As with any large, well-established business, agility may at times be slightly more difficult to always achieve, however, we have identified and made changes to various practices. Some of these include: - Delivering Virtual Training to all employees to ensure they are engaged and feel empowered with all the right tools to successfully undertake their roles - Successfully launching an online shopping presence for HUGO BOSS Australia to improve our customer’s experience - Utilising Microsoft Teams across all Support Office departments to increase communication and transparency Again, I sincerely thank you for providing your feedback. We wish you all the best in your future endeavours.
