Pros

Some of the smartest and most talented people in the professional A/V industry have worked at Harman so you are working with a great team of people. The company pay and benefits package is competitive with the industry. It's a large company so they have the financial resources to support major projects and initiatives. The strong brand names provide a competitive position in the market and open doors with potential partners.

Cons

The professional group has gone through several phases of consolidation and downsizing over the last few years. They lost the spirit and passion that made brands like AKG, Studer, JBL Pro, Sound Craft, AMX and Martin great in the first place. They are now really more of a consumer oriented A/V electronics company using commonly available generic parts riding on the past success of the brands. Only time will tell how this strategy works out going forward.

Pros

I was in HCS(Harman connected services - Pune) and not harman international (Bangalore ).So will speak only about HCS pune. U will get ,Harman and samsung products at discount. Apart from that Nothing else, as HCS is services division of Harman.It will hire and send u to client site .They have many clients and i was at john deere.

Cons

There are tons of it. 1)HCS is only interested in making money from the client.They use employee as money making tool. At client site they will never listen to u and will never care about u. 2)If by chance the client fires u ,the very next day they will fire u. That''s why in their offer letter they will mention that u r permanent employee from the very first day and their is no probation period.Because u r useless to them if u r not able to generate revenue for them so they will fire u anyway. 3)The managers and HR will never listen to u.If u think of complaining about him to his higher manager then its of no use because they will be friends.U mail to the HR and the HR will never reply to mails. 4)Here HR comes only twice in picture .First at hiring where they will do all sweet talk and start explaining that harman is this that and all the stuff.That time since at client site u will be generating revenue they will be very nice to u and will solve all ur difficulties during joining.But once u leave the organization then since u r not generating revenue anymore ,they will trouble at the time of leaving ,will not even issue exit letters on time and will call u afterwards. 5)Dont join this company under any circumstances .If u r jobless and need job join JOhn deere through HCL or Capgemini . If john deere fires you atlest u will go on bench and can go to other projects.But with HCS u have to become jobless as they dont have bench. 6)HCS policy is after 18 months u can search for different projects in Harman international.If u apply through IJP and even clear the interview the manager here will never release you as they will loose billability of a candidate.So its a policy only on paper which u will never be able to implement. 6)Though it is Automotive domain at john deere u will nothing learn here related with automotive domain.After working sometime here u will become ineligible to find jobs in the market.Harman will never ever give u chance to go to any other project.Only option left for u to resign from here.
