Pros

Some partners and associates are really nice, humble and nice to work with. The firm provides phone/data reimbursement and gives dismissal payments upon rather short employment termination.

Cons

Despite I only worked there for short period of time, this was enough for me. Paras in my dept has very high turnover rates. Frankly, I believe following areas may need improvement: a) lack of life and work balance, and words of encouragement/support for the hard works. b) lack of work specific related trainings to get the new hires up to speed with protocols and requirements for specific task/assignment. Particularly the junior associates, I was assigned assignments and told to use my own judgement. When I did exercised the judgment and did not do it the way they wanted, I was the one to blame. One associate was at the firm for 2 years and does not seem to know how to read/review a resolution and set up signature block per resolution given. c) lack of team work spirit; d) lack of concern/care for employee wellbeing and may be double standard. For example, I was told no few times when I requested for better monitors, bc my eyes got really sored after staring at the monitors for 8-15 hours a day, due to firm's policy. I could only have 2 old school 17in monitors if I would like dual monitors whereas associates could have 21 in monitors. e) lack of tool needed to perform the work. f) paralegals are understaffed (3-5 paras vs 45 plus attorneys); g) Some associates are very difficult to work and with little or no respects; h) too quick to judge a person's performance. I was there for 2 months, my workload was fairly stagnant for 5 weeks where I had to beg for work. Then 2 paras left and suddenly my workld was overwhelmed, they made the termination decision based on remaining 3 weeks of performance. To be con'd.

Pros

WISH THERE WERE SOME PROS.. WISH THERE WERE SOME PROS.. WISH THERE WERE SOME PROS.. WISH THERE WERE SOME PROS..

Cons

Run away! This firm has no respect for its staff. This is not the place to be if you are looking for good work/life balance. They expect you to do more and be happy without an increase in pay. When they do pay its a slap in the face minimal amount. Instead of providing occasional free food and snack days why don't management use that money to give bigger staff bonuses or salary increases. Main complaint from staff is pay and lack of respect from others. The culture here is to please the Shareholders at all times and jump backwards for them. The shareholders do not show appreciation and looks down on staff. Many of them disrespectful and it's overlooked by management as long as they bring in the money. It's a very depressing environment and I wouldn't recommend anyone to work here unless you can fit into the "favorites club".

Pros

Great vacation/sick/personal time offered. Located in a nice area.

Cons

Expensive benefits, very small bonuses, minimal profit sharing. Salaries are low. Culture is cut-throat for work between associates and paralegals. Staff is treated poorly. Top heavy for salaries. Management stretches staff coverage to its limits without hiring extra help. Hard work is unacknowledged and unrewarded. Unprofessional atmosphere with lots of little clicks and clans. Management and attorneys talk about staff poorly and in front of others staff and attorneys. No advancement possibilities or movement possibilities between departments for staff.
