Pros

The best part about working at Google is the number of very smart people constantly around you. Great team settings where you can learn and be around the best. There are tons of other employee benefits as well, such as the free food (3 meals a day cooked by excellent chefs) and snacks, game areas (fooseball, volleyball), bicycles, workout center, laundry machines, etc. All of these things cause you to worry about less outside of work.

Cons

Because of the large amounts of benefits (such as free foods) there seems to be an unsaid rule that employees are expected to work longer hours. Many people work more than 8 hours a day and then will be on email or work for a couple hours at home, at night as well (or on the weekends). It may be hard to perform extremely well with a good work/life balance.

Pros

The opportunity to change the world. Every job position has a very strong impact, especially in the emerging Google divisions. For example, Google Enterprise and Google Earth sales groups. Free food. Very open minded and diverse group of people. No one I met at Google is intellectually incompetent. You can bring dogs to work. The people are friendly and overall there is strong sense of belonging to a group of the elite that have the opportunity to change the world. The on site gym, cafes, are nice. Opportunities to see visiting authors and presidential candidates are amazing. You are in the presence of great people who will change/are changing the world.

Cons

For entrepreneurial people that want to start their own company, working at Google can become very comfortable and you enjoy a lot of the learning you would as if you were in a tech startup, thus prompting you to stay as an "employee" instead of business owner.

Pros

You work with the brightest people in the world who are also very modest and kind. Very fun, enjoyable, flexible atmosphere where you can be yourself. Every day I was there I found another reason to love it. The campus is very well connected and collegial. The food is obviously amazing. They are also always inviting speakers and musicians and finding ways to keep you entertained and learning. I could go on and on, but I was very happy there.

Cons

Team Leads were often inexperienced and poor. They were not use to working with so many high achievers and did a poor job managing them. Often had issues of micro management. The salary was average to below average depending on what department you were working for.
