Pros

Fun students Flexible way to earn additional income

Cons

Had a regular class on the schedule in 2021 and had to pause in 2022 due to a long-term gig. Upon return, I had to re-fill out all employment paperwork. I went into the office to submit my paperwork and then was notified I didn't have the proper certification to teach the class and I would not be able to return. As a pro dancer and experienced instructor, I have logged thousands of hours of training from top instructors. There is no single entity that offers a dance instructor certification in the same way as in the fitness/personal training industry. Again, I had already been teaching a regular class at Gold's Gym for more than a year (subbing since 2019). My lack of "certification" had never been an issue before. But alas, I was not re-hired.
