Thank you for sharing your experience and for highlighting our open-door culture. We’re glad to hear that transparency came through during your time here. It’s something we work hard to foster across teams and levels. We also appreciate your note about barriers to movement. Career growth and internal mobility are important to us, and feedback like yours helps us identify where we can improve. We’ll continue working to create more opportunities for employees to explore different roles and paths within the organization. - Britney McDonald, Senior Talent Acquisition Partner

Pros

Incredibly smart teammates, exciting work, and decent work-life balance (depending on what team you are on)

Cons

We've had layoffs for three years straight. Our community/forum products never really took off, and I see similar patterns with our new AI products. Product decisions are very top-down and it will be more so with the merger with Indeed.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. I’m glad to hear that you experienced the talent and energy of our teammates and found the work exciting. At the same time, I want to acknowledge the concerns you raised about product direction, decision-making, and the impact of ongoing change. Our team is focused on building products that help people everywhere make work-life better, and that requires both clear leadership and deep collaboration with the people closest to the work. We know that repeated layoffs and a merger can create uncertainty, and we are actively working to strengthen trust, invite more input from product teams, and ensure that the expertise of those building our products informs key decisions. Your feedback is an important reminder of how critical it is to balance bold product bets with open dialogue. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for helping Glassdoor continue to evolve. - Andy Chen | SVP, Product, CPO, Glassdoor

Pros

Good people, generous time off and low pressure environment.

Cons

Constantly change priorities, project started and stoped due to lack of direction from management. Multiple rounds of layoffs which lead to a major brain drain. Over all down beat feeling coming from upper management leading to expecting a layoff at anytime.

It’s great to hear that you experienced the generosity and support of our teams, even during challenging times. I also recognize the frustration that can come from shifting priorities and project changes. In technology, choosing the right long-term bets is essential. We’re focused on sharpening our strategy so that our efforts create lasting value for the business and our customers. AI is one piece of the puzzle, but we’re also investing in solutions that drive sustainable growth and meaningful impact. Feedback like this highlights the need for clarity and steady execution, and those remain key priorities as we move forward. - Rodrigo Oliveira | Chief Technology Officer, Glassdoor
