Pros

Great vacation benefits, health insurance, and tuition reimbursement. Access to conferences and other academic offerings are useful.

Cons

Parking is expensive, central administration can be racist, extremely limited upward mobility, respect is reserved for professors and not given to staff (with Master's Degrees)

Pros

Great benefits, work-life balance, pleasant work atmosphere (except for a couple of co-workers), and good operational support. If you are looking for good work life balance and can afford the low pay, this is the place for you.

Cons

A lot of politics / red tape, which stalls innovation and performance. Something that should take a week to get done takes months. Pay is about 25 percent below industry standard. The benefits are above standard (Medical / Retirement - Pension).
