Pros

Some of the best reasons to work at Georgia Tech as a Research Assistant include the flexibility of the faculty in meeting deadlines and the near-infinite amount of resources (knowledge-base) available to get work done.

Cons

The major negative in being a Graduate Research Assistant is that faculty members are often busy, and have very little time to tend to the needs of their students.

Pros

Georgia Tech offers highly challenging and exciting opportunities because of the number of interdisciplinary projects involved. Having tie-ups with industries add to its value.

Cons

The major downside is the emphasis on a lot of coursework in the very first semester of school. Can be avoided.
