Pros

Georgia Tech provides and excellent benefits package, including an attractive (and solvent) pension program through the Teacher's Retirement System of GA. The work environment is very flexible and a strong sense of community is prevalent.

Cons

In the current environment, the uncertainty surrounding state funding levels and the lack of funds to give raises for a number of years has created some concerns among employee groups. Additionally, the lack of income growth has contributed to the loss of intellectual capital to outside companies.

Pros

The prestige of working at GT carries a lot of weight with future employees--in higher ed, at least. The intown location is awesome.

Cons

There are raise and promotion freezes right now. It seems like some departments know how to get around this while others leave you hanging
