Pros

The university offers several training courses on-line for staff to include software and personal development. Benefits have improved over time. Great place to grow and enhance skills.

Cons

Due to the location in the downtown area, walkers should be aware of their surroundings and walk with another person at all times.

Pros

Excellent institution for a STEM BS/MS/PhD degree - especially for those who are aiming to go into industry. Consistently ranked in the top both nationally and internationally. Excellent resources for research with a very diverse group of researchers. Huge career fair, and generally a lot of companies coming through campus to recruit. For in-state students the ROI is pretty astronomical (i.e. I made it through a BS and PhD with ~$20k student loans, and general PhDs leaving my department expect ~$90-100k salary).

Cons

The fees for graduate students are a constant source of frustration. Most grads can expect stipends in the mid $20k range, and then expect to pay $1200 for fall/spring fees and $1000 for summer fees. Tack onto that $750 parking permits, and it gets to be a bit much for those of us commuting everyday. Also, for commuters specifically, traffic in Atlanta is pretty awful sometimes.

Pros

They work with you on classes and research. They are extremely aware of your status as a student first.

Cons

It is hard to balance class, gra work, and outside school work. The coursework at tech is very challenging.
