I came to georgia tech in 2012 as a PhD student at school of physics. I kind of like this college cuz it provides very good professors and facilities. A good place especially for engineering students.

Cons

Not strong enough in sciences and humanities. The other thing is the low salary for PhD student. The rent increases 50$ per year but our salary has changed for years. That's why I am considering quitting.

Good name, located in mid town, global fame, attracts good students from the globe, winter is not biting cold, many options to rent lease or own houses or apartments

Cons

location is bad for research as it is situated in mid town, lots of crime just outside the campus, not safe for after dark commute, very hot during summer
