Pros

They have a parking lot

Cons

No one will sign your timecard when your trying to leave your TEN HOUR SHIFT. The other employees will trick the new hires into thinking they have to stay overtime. Overtime is not required for part-time workers. There is never food during my lunch period. All the food is taken by the earlier shift. There is no training period. You show up, someone assigns you a station and they leave you there. They do come and check on you from time to time only to tell you are too slow and need to pick up the pace (even though your new and have only been with the company for a total of 3 hours).

Miserable environment, low pay

Pros

Building is nice-ish. If you are lucky enough to avoid having a micro manager your hours may be a bit more lax as long as your "work" is done.

Cons

I have never seen a company so constantly in turmoil. Constant lay-offs, restructuring, changing up of departments and managers, new CEO every year. Gate Gourmet is a revolving door for everyone from entry-level employees to VPs. Processes and SOPs are always changing due to every department only working to blame other departments for their screw ups. If these departments focused on actually doing their jobs as hard as they do on pointing fingers, Gate would be a Fortune 500 company. It is a good place for college students to get some professional experience to work for a year and leave for greener pastures. There is no mobility, no bonuses, no pay increases. Promotions are extremely hard to come by and are falsely promised to keep you around for a little while longer to hire a replacement.
