Everyone is nice and friendly; product is chaotic and there is no work/life balance
Pros
Quick promotions available if you work hard and fight to demonstrate your competence Great team members My direct manager was great, but I feel the company management as a whole in the tech space is very poor
Cons
Almost everyone is on a contract; it can be very difficult to become a full - time employee All dev teams have on call, and there are TONS of production issues due to leadership's unwillingness to focus and prioritize tech debt It seems that the hiring process needs to be refined. There were a few individuals in our space that didn't seem to have a basic understanding of software engineering. On the same line of thought as the above - it can be very easy to get fired if you are not advocating for yourself and demonstrating your competence and performance. Especially recently with budgetary concerns I was basically lied to when being hired on. I was told my position would be 6 months contract - to -hire. After starting, I was told this could be 18+ months and it was really out of the hands of my manager.
