Pros

People are very smart and fun to work with. The overall company culture is amazing. Lots of face time with partners so you always feel like your team is connected.

Cons

Like any office there are plenty of politics and "playing the game." Lots of favoritism being thrown around. Not always super clear about what the next step is for employees.

Pros

Good benefits, promote work life balance, instituted ROWE a few years ago company wide, and of course employee discount.

Cons

Difficult to move from the Associate Manager to Manager position within the production department.

Pros

ROWE (result oriented work environment )for some brands is fantastic. Good chances of advancement if you know how to play politics. Substantial discount of clothing. The Folsom street location is great. Cafeteria food is good. Weekly "touch base" meeting with your superior is very valuable.

Cons

Due to the fact that Gap's culture of the company is so political, the management teams are very stressed out, and there is a lot backstabbing, making it near impossible to have a direct and honest dialogue. Recruiters make promises that aren't respected. Leadership changes so often that teams are constantly destabilized. Very bland workforce, everyone looks and sounds the same. The biggest problem is the salaries range. It doesn't take into account that San Francisco is the most expensive city in the U.S. (more than NYC), and unless you are upper management, you may really struggle making ends meet. That's inexcusable, especially considering the very long hours that we work each work.
