Pros

The customer representatives were very supportive of each other. The 3 managers of the store branch were easy to talk to.

Cons

There were many seasonal/ temporary workers, which made bonding with other employees tricky at times. Early morning shipments helped as a bonding activity.

Pros

Gap is a well respected name in the apparel industry producing great products that are in demand by consumers. Thank You Patrick Robinson for giving us styles that are easy to sell. The employee discount is quite generous and you can wear jeans to work!!

Cons

Stores operate with high levels of workload often without timely or consistent direction. Finding a balance between brand tasking and customer service is quite difficult at times. Doing more work with less payroll is the expectation, which is often an unrealistic goal. This results in salaried managers putting in WAY more hours than required and still coming up short on results. Work / life balance is a tough one to accomplish in this environment, so if you enjoy "living to work" instead of "working to live" then this is the management position for you.

Pros

It was fun, met lots of friends. They were flexible to my schedule. They are excepting of all types of people. They gave me a raise every 6 months due to my hard work.

Cons

Each raise when working retail has a paycap, which is based on sales associates duties. So if the management answer the survey truthfully, your pay increase will be very small for doing lots of hard work. The hours. I'd have to work from 9pm-6am for 2 days a week, then 6am-9am 2 days a week. Made it hard to get a good sleep schedule going.
