Pros

The Gap stores I have worked at consistently have management that is willing to work with you and your schedule (I am a student, so that is key for me). Other associates are friendly and typically, everyone gets along. Working for Gap has been a job that I have kept longer than others specifically because of the positive work environment and the fact that when they hire employees, they treat them well and employees stick around, which is not common in retail. I also know that benefits are offered to employees, which is pretty great, but I do not have the need to take part.

Cons

Management at my store has changed fairly often since I began working there, but they have now brought back a former manager who has done the best job, so it has all worked out in the end.

Pros

Good benefits, flexible scheduling and a very easy environment to be a part of. Team oriented and a happy place to be.

Cons

Not much opportunity for career advancement and pay was not well compensated for. Company has also been battling a financial rut for some time

Pros

- The people. Coworkers become like friends and they're all very nice. - The discount. 50% off full price items is a pretty good deal.

Cons

- Gap cards. We are pushed to get people to open the gap card even if they don't want it. - Scheduling. Three hours shifts can be nice but sometimes it would be nice if we could get a six or seven hour shift as well. I don't want to have to work five days a week to get 15 hours when that could be done in two eight hour shifts. - Career advancement. Advancement is definitely about politics and not ability.
