Pros

The only positive about working for this company is the pay. Benefits are not the best.

Cons

This is the most disorganized, chaotic complex institution I ever worked for. They have very high turnover, which doesn't help with the claims that need to be handled. They allow their workloads to pile up and when they hire new employees, they expect them to come in and play clean up. They have cases where the previous adjusters have done lackluster investigations, excepted compensability on files that clearly should have been denied and they're paying/wasting thousands of dollars on claim files on employees that are milking the system that should have been shut down. Their CMS is complicated and for what reason, the new employees can't figure out but those who have shockingly remained with the company more than a year just go along with it. The training is minimal at best and instead of giving you new claims to start in to get familiar with their systems and procedures, they throw everything at you and expect you to fix it and get them caught up on their behind work. And this is work that is behind like 4-5 months. It is unrealistic and they seem to can't comprehend why they cannot keep valuable employees. The benefits are okay. I haven't had the chance to use any of them. I think the pay needs to be more if they want new people to come in and fix their mess. The organizational breakdown of GB and the other carriers they work with is complex, to many hands and opinions in the files. Adjusters feel like they can't do just that, adjust. They also want you to have work meetings about your claim scores on each file and enjoyed why people can't keep up with the work. The constant file reviews for so many companies is ridiculous and again, takes time away for doing the actual work. I can understand the frustrations of past adjusters that have left. They expect you to write up all of these reports for these clients and carriers, which leaves very little time to do the work. Adjusters just want to do that adjust claims, get these injured workers help with treatment and back to work.

Pros

Salary Decent PTO bank & paid holidays

Cons

Most everyone worked at least 10-12 hour days and over the weekend just to get the bare minimum done. Unreasonable audit expectations; your caseload might only be 150 claims but the audit criteria makes it take you 2-4+ hours to work up a claim. If you get 2-3 new claims per day, you can see how that would be problematic. Management at this branch is the most unprofessional I've ever met in my career. Never any positive reinforcement but the minute you're behind on your work or you're not getting a 90% or above on your audits, you - and your other co-workers in the same boat - get an email telling you this is unacceptable and to get caught up. So unprofessional and condescending. Very hostile work environment. Asked HR for an exit interview but never got one. They know what's going on and they don't care.
