      Pros

      GSK is positioning its self for the future and there are a lot of changes taking place. This allows employees to be instumental in shaping the changes and make a significant impact over how business will be conducted over the next few years

      Cons

      Changes are occuring quickly and at times this leads to gaps in information, capabilites, and history to allow business to function effectively currently

      Above-average compensation and benefits pkg. Depending upon the area of business, telecommuting is encouraged.

      Cons

      Communication is poor. Sr. mgmt ignores workers in the trenches. Many of the fringe benefits--e.g. childcare subsidy; quality cafeteria/fitness centers--have been taken away completely or are of exceptionally poor quality. Work/life balance is constantly talked about, but not actually encouraged (i.e. ongoing layoffs have resulted in fewer people doing more work and, thus, working long hours, including many weekends).

      Pros

      I don't have any! I enjoyed the people but in general too much management overseeing...very little independence. I found that when we worked as teams people were able to do little work and rest on the laurels of others.

      Cons

      I would say the downside to working at GlakySmithKline was the inability to progress upward in terms of job opportunities.
